This year the contemporary art biennial Tallinn Photomonth takes place from 6 September to 3 November. Tallinn Photomonth opens its fifth edition and alongside its international group exhibitions features a satellite programme in various locations across Tallinn both in private and public spaces. The projects in the satellite programme explore themes that complement the biennial’s main programme – anxiety and adaptation in the contemporary world, interrelations between ownership, belonging and responsibility and recent developments in lens-based culture.
From 40 applications the jury – Marten Esko, Kulla Laas, Kadri Laas-Lepasepp, Kristel Raesaar and Laura Toots – selected 18 events to be featured in the biennial’s satellite programme. The diverse programme includes eight solo and three group exhibitions, four public artworks, a book launch and party, and two artist talks, one of which includes portfolio reviews.
